Pad Printing – High-Precision, Top-Quality Print

Pad printing is a modern indirect printing method used to apply durable and detailed markings onto various surfaces – even irregular, curved, or hard-to-reach ones. The process transfers ink from an engraved plate to the product using a flexible silicone pad.

Industrial Applications of Pad Printing

This technology is widely used across industries, including:
  • Plastics– technical parts with 3D shapes
  • Electronics– keyboards, enclosures, buttons
  • Packaging & cosmetics– caps, lids, bottles
  • Consumer electronics– control panels, buttons, housings
  • Automotive– icons and symbols on interior components
  • Medical– syringes, tools, containers
  • Toys– plastic and rubber elements
  • Advertising– promotional items and customized merchandise

Why Choose Pad Printing?

Pad printing offers unmatched versatility, accuracy, and cost-efficiency. It allows for the customization of nearly any object without sacrificing quality, making it the go-to solution for companies with diverse needs.

Advantages of Pad Printing

  • Ultra-fine detail– prints elements smaller than 0.1 mm
  • Prints on 3D shapes– ideal for uneven, convex/concave, or porous surfaces
  • Wide material compatibility– plastic (ABS, PP, PE, PC, PVC), metal, glass, ceramic, wood, rubber, and more
  • High durability– resistant to wear and external conditions with proper industrial inks
  • Scalable– from prototypes to large-scale production
  • Automation-ready– perfect for serial manufacturing
  • Cost-effective– low unit cost at scale

How It Works

Pad Printing Process:
  • Plate preparation – the design is etched onto a metal or photopolymer plate.
  • Inking the plate– printing ink fills the engraved areas.
  • Ink cleanup– a doctor blade wipes excess ink, leaving it only in the engraving.
  • Ink pickup– a silicone pad presses onto the plate and picks up the inked design.
  • Transfer to product– the pad moves to the item and presses the ink onto its surface.
  • Curing– depending on the ink and material, curing may use UV light, heat, or chemicals.
